A LITTLE 'STREET TALK'

We'll tell you more when we can. For now, we encourage you to mark your calendars for the week of January 9, 2006. A new cable news show is set to debut in southwest Missouri. CHATTER's chief typist and masseur is involved. That should be enough to frighten the children.

I've enjoyed listening to you on the radio many times in the past. You have a quick wit and good voice, but Ron... you simply don't have the proper hair for TV. Please, please, contact Steve Grant (who has perfect anchorman hair)for immediate help!

Anon: Thanks. Perhaps a skull cap is in order. Or maybe it's time to adopt a Jerry Jacob 'do.

Um, why this fascination with looks? With all the mocking of "pretty, empty-headed" anchors, won't it be refreshing to watch someone who looks more like the rest of us delivering intelligent and informative commentary? Of course, I'm biased. I'm in on this, too.

Let's face it... who would you really rather watch, a tattered old scalawag like Ron, or a "brainy, yet beautiful" newsperson like Maria Neider? Yes, we like Ron and will watch his efforts anyway.

Trouble with this is that it was decided at a vote of the SGF Bloggers .. who had a meeting tonight, and I forgot (I'll listen to the podcast on Retorica next) ... that there is no Ron Davis. He is an FOI - Figment of the Imagination -- will the person showing up using the name actually be Gordon Nordquist in human, and younger, disguise??
