Megan Oglesbee, 21, worked as a nursing assistant in Westernport, Va. One of her patients was wearing a 72-hour transdermal pain patch.
Oglesbee removed the patch and, according to The Associated Press, "stuck a pin in the patch and sucked out the medication."
Oglesbee pleaded guilty to neglect; a judge on Thursday sentenced her to 18 months in prison, but suspended the sentence and put Oglesbee on three years probation -- a "plea and go," as railbirds like to call it. Oglesbee also was slapped with a $1,000 fine.
Slave to the patch. Bad place to be.
