NEWS-LEADER LOSS
Big shakings at the News-Leader, as one of its top editors leaves the paper for warmer climes. Who? We're gonna leave you on a ledge.

This isn't such great big news, regardless of whom it turns out to be. It just won't matter. As you know from having suffered there yourself, there'll be a replacement idiot from another Gannett city air-dropped in, within a couple weeks. That person will be as clueless as the last.
Anon: We can only hope that Papa G doesn't airlift in someone as a replacement for this job. When writing local editorials, one should know the area and the issues.
You betcha one should know the area and the issues. But c'mon, man...Since when, in your memory, has that really figured into the executive hiring decisions at--or, shall I say, for--651 Boonville?
Our Town is probably destined to get the latest in a series of self-righteous adding-machine operators, or, this being Bobby Leger's swap-out, an ego-bloated hyperbolist who won't know his Ash Grove from his asshole, or someone who thinks Tom and Tucker Carlson are father and son.
Wait a minute...maybe Tom and Tucker really ARE father and son! Yeesh!
Regardless, Leger will leave some very small socks for someone to fill.
Agree with his editorials/columns or not, Robert Leger leaves a massive hole to fill. He's an old-school journalist. He knows the First Amendment backward and forward and has intrigrity to spare. Gannett will serve us someone opposite that; it's a given. Just one more nail in the local print coffin. (But they do have that crack editorial writer Brian to fill Leger's shoes, socks, shirts. And they can score minority points with corporate at the same time!)

Meet the new boss...same as the old boss....

I'm sorry...did I say socks? I meant to say "stuffed shirt."
