POLITICAL COMPASS

Friday and rolling into a long weekend, so you've got some time to learn what you are.

Duane @ Minutia posted a link to The Political Compass. Any test that claims "no right, wrong or ideal responses" is cool by us.

After the 5-minute quiz, we grabbed our results:
Economic Left/Right: -5.88
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -5.38
Apparently, we're leftists. Who'd have thunk it? This puts us over by Nelson Mandela and the Dalai Lama. We'll take it. Click here to take the test. Show us your scores. Beads to the best.

Economic Left/Right: -7.13
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -6.10

And how do you define "the best" scores?

Retaking the test, I wound up with:

Economic Left/Right: -2.50
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -1.85

Still leftist, but by this evening I'll be past you, Duane, and headed to Curbstone Critic territory. Conversely, I must wake up very early to be to the left of El Doctor.

Hey I am right in there with Ghandi .. birds of a feather except I am better armed, dress more sensibly, eat better, and wear shoes ... unlike the people who call Billy Long on KWTO.

Odd position, although not really. I know myself:

Economic L/R: 0.88
Social L/A: -5.54

AK (but might be Bill Clinton. With numbers like mine, I could be elected!)

Oops ... now I see .. .I forgot the minus signs ... -5.38, -5.33 ...

And I look at graphs all the time too ... definitely NOT in the upper right quadrant ... thwe only thing up there is a heart attack or breast cancer ...

Ron Davis said...

You go, AK! Numbers like Mott the Hoople!

Anonymous said...

Do you think we could get Mott the Hoople elected? Are they alive? Would it matter? Might be better than anyone the Dems are putting forth. Hey, this just might work ...

I came in at
Economic Left/Right: -6.50
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian:
-3.85

I'm in with Ghandi and Mandela too. Guess I need to print up a card to carry around so I can claim to be a "card carrying Liberal."

So i'll give up all my paltry possessions and donate them to someone poorer than me.....
-7.75 economic left/right
-6.82 social lib/authorianian

It's ok, i've got a bumper sticker 'Jesus, Gandhi & MLk: Just a bunch of bleeding heart liberals'
Just don't touch my books!
I do have an issue with de shrubbers score- he's got to be closer to Authoritarian than it shows.
Glad to be here.

mott the whople?

So I just got around to testing and...

Left/Right: -6.13
Liber/Author: -4.97

My issue was there wasn't any "no opinion" option for the questions. You either had to pick one side or the other.

Right there with Ghandi and Mandella......
So why did I vote for "W" (and still would again)??
