WHAT A HOSER

So if you watch "Street Talk" this week you're supposed to espy the look in Vince Jericho's eyes so you can see he's shocked -- shocked! -- at being challenged. At least that's what he said Wednesday on his radio show, according to people who listened to KSGF.

He apparently thought he would have the opportunity to say anything he wanted, without disagreement. His mistake.

Best part of his radio schtick: Saying the experience had shaken him so much that he doesn't know if liberals and conservatives can ever come together. That's right -- we've broken bipartisanship. Whee!

I don't think he's your friend anymore! ;)

He said he went home and cried. Seriously.

And Vince's "heart was ripped out," reports John Stone. As one person said on the set, after it was all over, "it made for good TV."

That's only because all you commies just don't have any "moral absolutes" like abortion, war and death penalty .... it was quite a whine ...

You should feel proud of yourself. Most liberals are mean spirited, hateful jerks.
Just remember, what goes around, comes around. Someday, maybe a conservative will rip your heart out. Or do you even have one?

Ron Davis said...

Anon: Yeah yeah, that's me and "most liberals" -- mean-spirited, hateful, a jerk. Glad to see you don't like to generalize. And of course I don't have a heart. Ask anyone who knows me.

Ron, I think that H in your sub line should have actually been an L.

If Vince can't take the heat, he shouldn't venture into the kitchen.

So you beat up a little girl. Congratulations, big man. A nice softball start for you.

Jericho is a flatulent gasbag, and even without having seen your dissection of him on "Street Talk," I salute you in advance for what sounds to be a respectable job of taking him down a notch.

But please, try going after someone with a little more intellectual candle power, next time. Then we'll have reason to be amused AND impressed.

Will the program be on Channel 14? The on-screen schedule says there's a Home Shopping Showcase at 6:30 today...

Yes, Street Talk will be on Mediacom channel 14 at 6:30 p.m. today. We finalized negotiations Monday, which was too late for the TV Guide Channel to make changes. Or so they tell me. Oddly, the on-screen guide/schedule often does not match reality for that channel.

In February (and hopefully thereafter) Street Talk will be on Mediacom Connections Channel 14 Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m., Thursdays at 10:30 p.m. (ignore previous post about 11:30) and Sundays at 12:30 p.m.

Podcast(s) of audio and video will be available (hopefully) sometime on Thursday. Yep, it's a marketing ploy to get you to watch on Mediacom. Please.

Sorry I missed Jericho's show. Watch the show, then judge for yourself what happened. I'll reserve more comment until after the show has aired.

Thanks for the info on Channel 14. I had never watched this channel before. Amazing! It's kind of a Cyberspace Flea Market, isn't it?

What's interesting about the utterly detestable Jericho is that his approach is something new in the right-wing arsenal. Most of their broadcast blowhards hammer their opponents with venom and ridicule.

Not VJD. He's something new: the conservative-as-whiner His mewling and puking are nauseating. Poor, put-upon VJD ...Poor, put-upon GW Bush.

When these so-called conservatives start embracing the "victim mentality" ... ay, caramba!

Kornz, you're onto something when you speak of the cons embracing the victim mentality. I've been contemplating for some time now how much fun it will be to watch and listen to the cons squirming and squealing as the political pendulum begins its inevitable swing back to the left.

Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly...they all just might spontaneously combust!

It is hard to believe that a radio host like Jericho doesn't understand what is happening when a "guest" gets challenged by a host. And it is even harder to believe that anyone who has been in Springfield for more than a month doesn't know that Ron Davis is going to issue a challenge. Why did this guy go on the show? Maybe someone should have him listen to some old KWTO shows (you know, from back in the day when Morning Line was more than commercials and Billy Long selling something), or read a few Chatter columns or articles from the snoozeleader when Davis did his thing in print.
Did Jericho really think he was going to a love fest (isn't that distinctly NOT a conservative value)? Did he not understand that a good discussion makes for good TV?

And yeah, Davis has a heart. He may not want anyone to know, so maybe this comment won't get posted. Hmmm.

Not to put upon Mediacom too much. They're trying to provide local programming, something the broadcast stations no longer do, except for the "news" casts. There was a time when TV stations all did public affairs programs on a weekly basis, when children's programs were presented daily, when local programs were important to a station's identity.

Mediacom has mainly sports programming as its local offering. In their defense, the Home Shopping Showcase is NOT a Mediacom production, but purchased time. So horribly produced its fun to watch. Like a bad traffic accident.

Obligatory tease for Street Talk: Next Week we pull the wings off a fly.

A live fly.

" ... espy the look in Vince Jericho's eyes so you can see he's shocked -- shocked! -- at being challenged. At least that's what he said ...

When I looked deeply into his eyes all I saw was fear. Deep, smelly, animal fear. Bring a can of Glade to the studio next time.

Particularly interesting that it was him who brought up the race issue ... something about Freud and a guilty conscious, perhaps? How many blacks are in his Guardian Angles anyway. The one time I saw a group of about 8 of them walking in my hood they all looked white to me. And it was a Sat night, and now I understand why none of them had a date. Girls thought the same way of me when I was that age ... come to think of it ... still do.

Good presentation for first time out. The audio sucks, has an echo and sounds clipped, but this is probably because they don't have a good studio.

Congrats to all involved. Going to be a good series ... thank goodness for podcasts ....

Geeezzzzeee ... did you actually tell him you loved him??? Did he even buy you dinner before??? Any jewelry involved??

This quote: from a blog that shall remain unidentified to save the writer embarrassment....

"If you had a friend, a friend who told you they loved you, respected you and then lied to you and purposefully went out of their way to hurt you would you be hurt?"

If I looked at the CHATTERism guy in Yahoo personals again would I find that you claim you have better hair?

Inquiring minds want to know....

Wonder what I would get if I did a family search on the name Shottenkirk??? Oh, well, guess I won't life is short and I have wasted too much time laughing already.
