ROY BLUNT, WIFE ADOPT KID

The governor has a new stepbrother. From Rep. Roy Blunt's office, this news release:
House Majority Whip Roy Blunt (Mo.) today announced that he and his wife Abigail have adopted a son. Alexander Charles Blunt, 18 months, was born near Moscow, Russia, in 2004.

"Abby and I are so glad to add this little guy to our family," Blunt said.

"So far, Charlie has spent every day of his young life in an orphanage or hospital.

"We are so fortunate and so pleased to be able to share our lives and opportunities with him."

The Blunts had worked with a Texas-based agency for a year prior to the adoption. Blunt has three adult children and four grandchildren.
Welcome to A Blunt.

Currently there are more than 1,000 deserving Missouri children, ranging from newborns to 18-year-olds, who are waiting to be adopted by loving families. It's too bad the Congressman and his trophy lobbyist felt it necessary to reach halfway around the world to rescue an orphaned Russian, when they could have done so much to call attention to the needs of Missouri's kids instead.

Fortunately they didn't adopt two babies from Bangladesh ... because then the Demodawgs could claim that Abbi was the mother of black babies ... like the Repugs did to John McCain in .... North Carolina ... of course ....

It's even harder to fathom Blunt's adoption of a Russian toddler, considering he could have qualified for a decent tax credit by adopting a Missouri child instead. What on earth were his accountants thinking???

I hear Alexander Blunt has already announced his candidacy for MO Secretary of State in 2034.

2034?
No way.
You are forgetting this kid's last name.
He has already filed for 2006!

You're right, the sad thing is he's already equaled his big brother in political skills!

I am an adoption professional in Missouri and while there are lots of kids here that need a family, bottom line is a kid is a kid and they all deserve a family. For whatever reason, the Blunts chose to adopt from another country and at least one more child has a home. Hopefully they are not planning to get adoption subsidy though since Alex's big brother already destroyed that program.
