PROFANITY ON KTTS

Where's the station's delay? Sunday listeners of "Cracker Barrel," the highly rated call-in show, were treated to a caller claiming that those who advocate withdrawal of troops from the Middle East are "chickens--t."

You can't make chicken salad out of it, and you're not supposed to allow it on the radio. Who dropped the KTTS ball on Sunday morning?

If a profanity is uttered on "Crackerbarrel" but nobody is listening to KTTS, does it make a sound? Does anybody care? Oh, for the days when that program had knowledgeable hosts and attracted an intelligent audience and thoughtful discussion............

"Cracker Barrel" has never had a knowledgeable host in it's history. KTTS used to use a 7 second tape-delay during the show. Maybe they let it air because the callers description is right on.

Perhaps Anon 425 can enlighten us as to just where the line between chicken shit and simply having an opinion is found when that opinion has come from a great many combat veterans, first responders and ordinary citizens wondering what the hell is happening to ourselves.
Also, its clear that you haven't lived here long enough to remember Dan Shelly as very knowledgeable about issues his listeners were interested in.

Yes I have you idiot. 9 times out of 10 it was the Program Director Don Paul who hosted Cracker Barrel. Sometimes General Manager Curt Brown joined in. I have lived here over 50 years. Unlike you, have have just a little more going for me that text book smarts.

Anon 929: Quit with the name calling. Disagree all you want with Anon 525. You don't need to call someone an "idiot" just because you disagree with them.

Idiot er I mean Anon 527 here again. I think a "text book" you (929)may want to read is How to Win Friends and Influence People.
Is Calling me an idiot all you could come up with? Also, just what did I write that suggested any one posting here has any higher or lower level of text book learnedness. Is that a word, "learnedness?" Was your mother frightened by a text book salesman while preggers with you?
Are you threatened by people who read?
And one last question getting back to the theme of the disCUSSion: Are you of the opinion that things were planned and are going so well in Iraq that
we should stay there as long as those planners say, or are you open at all to any other opinions?

Will the Federal Censorship Commission fine the bejezus out of KTTS for using potty-mouth no-no words? If so...

...what a waste of government resources.

A waste of recources for sure, but
wouldn't the FCC be following a double standard if it didnt act. After all, there were children in their cars on the way to church hearing the braodcast and asking "Mommy, what is chicken shit?" Kids already know what a nipple looks like but the FCC went ahead and fined CBS and local stations too.

Does anyone but ME remember who else used to be a radio guy with opinions???? Yes, Chatter himself ... Ron Davis. Okay it wasn't crackerbarrel ... but it was some free speech. NPR-style.

A co-worker of mine said VDJ muddered 'f-you' the other morning. He had just read a letter from a 25 year old boy. Curbstone needs to post that if he has it.

If Jericho had used the ooooh-scaaary f-word, the Federal Censorship Commission would've already fined his station. Hell, they're digging into years of NFL broadcasts in order to RETROACTIVELY punish the networks for any profanity they find.

Power corrupts.
