REDRUM FOR TIM DRUM?

Figurative REDRUM, of course, not the literal kind. Who would want to wish any ill will or bad future on the KSPR weatherman?

Excepting KSPR boss types. Drum is out of there, according to this thread on the Missouri Radio forums. Drum was easily the best-known on-air person at the ABC affiliate.

Besides Jasmine Huda, of course. Come Friday she'll become the senior City Hall beat reporter among Springfield's press corps. Ponder that fact for a while before weeping.

Jasmine? Senior City Hall beat reporter? I know the last few days have been strange, but, but - I'm weeping.

Hey, maybe she could get on that monkey story! 'Breaking news! Live! On KSPR!'

Anonymous said...

Seriously she is a smart woman. She is interested and I think will rise to the occasion. She is easily the best person at 33. And for that matter one of the best in local media-now.

That monkey got a gig at KSPR? And is female?

Monkeys make me laugh!

Switching from TV to print is a big/odd jump isn't it? I've heard of it going the other way.

Does this have something to do with Gannett's new and growing interest in video news reports?

Anonymous said...

oh yeah, word from people at her own station say she's a climber and she's dating a local judge and a cbs correspondent to boost her career. maybe she is a smart woman

Anonymous said...

How to you date a local judge AND a CBS correspondent? Is that the same person?

Wow, the Springfield media market is a regular Peyton's Place.

Nice personal slander. You must be proud Ron.

Clean up what is an otherwise good blog.

Glad to see Ron Davis site catching fire---doing a public service.

I saw Tony Beason after Dylan concert---he said good---different. Y the way the new Dylan is a must for people to get---I have bought records sine 8 years old---this is the only lp---cd I ever could not stop listening to.

Dylan really talks of life---getting older---the end and God---all in a happy way.

As far as Tony Beason---most of us love him---good posting sorry to see it head south.

As far as Huda goes---we need more press at City Hall---apartment Moratorium was almost story of the year until Millionaire Mayor stepped in at 11:55 to stand up for those renters---or builders!

The News-Leader---WELL!

Anon 9:46 -- what slander? Ron said nothing. Do you mean libel? Defamation? Not guilty on those counts, either. Fair comment and criticism. Huda's a public figure. Time to bone up on defamation law, dude or dudette.

I don't understand the touchy reactions to this post and comments about other media types (Beason, Michele, Jerry, Jinny, etc.). Do reporters wear their feelings on their sleeves or do they just have overblown egos? If reporters do wear their feelings on their sleeves then it is a good thing they are not elected officials since the media enjoys tearing them up. Seriously, toughen up folks.

By the way, I am "RepublicFamily." For some reason this particular blog only lets me post as anonymous.

Anonymous said...

I love the most recent posts from DocLarry and RepublicFamily.

The basic gist is: "They are on TV so we can rip on them all we want!"

Nice. Why don't you cowards reveal your identities so we can all distort your personal lives in a (more or less, considering how few hits this site gets) public venue? I kind of doubt you will. You want the public access that professional media have (that is, you want someone to listen to you) but you don't want the accountability that putting your name behind it brings.

Clearly Ron I am not aiming this at you, since you put your name on your blog like oh-so-few bloggers. But Doc and Republic are just more white noise.

So why don't I put my name on this? I'm not calling out anyone with a real name. So I don't feel obligated. You cowards pony up and I'll be glad to.

Jasmine?

Again, I have to ask "Sickened by the Potshots and Jealousy" what potshots and rips? A few posters have asked about boy/girlfriends and some have posting about media emphasis ... overall, it seems to me that it messes with what RepublicFamily had to say. The media types are very touchy. Odds are 10- 1 that "Sickened by the Potshots and Jealousy" works in the news media ... probably at KY3.

The most senior correspondant?

We don't normally have ugly (cross-eyed maybe) reporters.

How about... who is the hottest?

Cara Restelli by a mile.

And again, back to high school go the anons. Cowboy Yoda, go with you may I?

Anonymous said...

hahaha doclarry!

Anonymous said...

Up the poop chute with your condesceding hypocritical attacks on anonymous posters, you belong, doclarry.

Tired of your predictable whining, we are.

Forthcoming with names we will be when you abandon your own dorky signature photo and start using your true name in posts of your own.

Stuff socks in your piehole, meanwhile, you should.

Anonymous said...

That...was...AWESOME!

Larry Burkum said...

Thank you for proving my point. You obviously haven't been reading the blog or you'd understand my comment.

As far as being hypocritical, follow the link and you will learn all you want to know about me. That requires effort. anon 3:00 must find it easier to fling ad hominem attacks. Far too touchy, he is.

Anonymous said...

doclarry,

You obviously assume entirely too much.

First, you assume that I haven't been reading this blog. I've been reading it for a long time, plenty long enough to be familiar with your habits.

Second, you assume that I am a he. I am now and have always been very much a woman.

Third, I really don't care to know all that much about you. You communicate plenty about yourself in your posts to this blog, and from that alone, you're not really anyone I'd care to know any better. I'm fine leaving it at that. What's up your ass that you have to know more about any of us who post here anonymously?

And last but not least, give us all a freaking break with your claim that a person can learn all they want about you from checking out your blog profile. Your name's not there. There's no recognizable picture there, just the same chickenshit half-mugshot you use on your Chatter posts. And there's certainly nothing there to suggest whether you have a doctorate degree, or if so, which diploma mill it came from.

Oh, sure, we see what some of your favorite movies are, and that you like to engage in woodworking. Yippee skippee for you! Did you forget to leave out the part about playing with dolls, inflatable ones and otherwise?

I know for a fact that I am not the only visitor to Chatter who is sick of your crap. If you are so obsessed with finding out our identities, why don't you go get a job with the Department of Homeland Security and you can spy on us all you want.

Meanwhile, quit being such a horse's ass.

Again, anon proves my point. One must read the blog, not just the profile. My comment above which set off this pointless attack was not aimed at anyone's anonymity. It merely reflected the fact that the anonymous posters have gone back into high school mode by pondeing who might be dating whom. That Ms. anon (assuming she really is a she) lept to a conclusion with zero evidence clearly demonstrates a severe case of thin-skinness. With the tiniest bit of research my name is revealed. It's been mentioned on this blog, on Snarling Marmot's blog, on Granny Geek's blog, etc.

Finally, Ms. anon, please point out the last time I condemned one's anonymity? Making personal attacks against Ron Davis behine the veil of anonymity remains a cowardly act. That's all I've ever criticized.

So take the chip off you shoulder, take a chill pill, have a drink (unless you're already drunk), watch the sunset/ Or drop dead. Your choice.

Larry's right. It's been a long time since he attacked anyone for being anonymous. And he usually only gets mad if someone attacks Ron anonymously. Doc Larry's like a Pit Bull, not to be confused with a service monkey. But if Ron takes Larry to a restaurant and Larry is dressed in Tommy Hilfiger and a diaper and Larry eats on a salad bar and Ron is anxious, someone's going to be attacked.

Anonymous said...

"And again, back to high school go the anons. Cowboy Yoda, go with you may I?"

Even Lovey got DocLarry's point instantly. Too bad some of the anons don't recognize their own behavior for what it is-trite and boringly silly. Even my 17-year old rises above that.

Anonymous said...

Ahhh. Full circle. Monkeys still make me laugh. But, while reading these posts only took a few moments,is it time well spent? Whoops, gotta go..."Bedtime for Bonzo" is coming on.

Anonymous said...

I crack up, too. DocLarry thinking any of us have the energy to slog through his tedious blog just to gain hints as to who he is.

We already know who he is: a worthless nothing who's only chance to be heard - only chance to matter - is to yell at the top of his lungs under a shield of anonymity.

DocLarry is neither a doctor nor someone named Larry. He's clearly someone whom society has passed by and is left to rail at the way things are because they haven't gone his way.

He isn't in political power, he isn't powerful, and he doesn't have a microphone nor a byline. He's nobody.

Nobody at all.

Anonymous said...

pity doclarry, for someone who complains about my supposed "anonymity", you certainly seem to know a lot about me. Or are you merely making ASS umptions? If I am so "anonymous," how do you or anyone else know I'm not in political power? Again, you seem to be making ASS umptions without any evidence, since you are too lazy to take a cursury glance at the mentioned blogs.

If my "anonymity" bothers some of you who make ASS umptions so much, why not expose me? Takes about as long as it did to read these comments and write your own. Make it a contest...see who can expose DocLarry's real name first.

Or are you merely jealous of the attention I get?

Anonymous said...

It is fairly easy to see you aren't in political power since your views are staggeringly out of step with those of the Springfield-area majority.

You are on the outside looking in, face pressed against the glass of the cool kids house.

It's high school all over again, isn't it Doc?
