I met him twice, once when he was in congress and shortly after he left office. I still have very mixed feelings about him. I suppose he did what he felt he had to do in the chaos following Nixon's resignation, but much of his administration, (like WIN - Whip Inflation Now) was either a failure or just downright silly. But he had such a short time in office it is difficult to make an assessment.

Ford will be remembered as a good and decent man as President -- in Congress, he was an early Newt.

I wonder if Squeaky Fromm will get a "Get Out of Jail Free" card now?
