CONSERVATIVE TOP 40
Continuing the music ramble, here's an interesting compilation -- the top 40 right-wing songs from the Top 40 charts. Penned by Bruce Bartlett, it's certainly a weird read. Among his picks:

Gag, that just ruined several songs for me. Never take musical advice from a guy named Norquist.
Since you like list Ron and since we've talked about Jimmy Page on another thread how about my list of TOP FIVE JIMMY PAGE SESSIONS MAN CUTS.
Starting with: 5. "Jack the Ripper" by Screaming Lord Sutch. Best use of hokey 'villian' music and the "Dragnet" theme.
4. "Hurdy Gurdy Man" If it wasn't for Jimmy Page's fuzztone guitar and John Paul Jones bass, this song would be another Donavon song that sucks.
3. "She's Fallen In Love with a Monster Man" by Screaming Lord Sutch (1964). I point out the date because, as Jamie Turner of KGBX noticed, it sounds like the same riff Jeff Beck played the next year on "Heart Full of Soul" by the Yardbirds (although this has more of a buzzsaw effect) and who replaced Jeff Beck in the Yardbirds? Jimmy Page of course.
2. "Is It True?" by Brenda Lee. Yes, little Brenda Lee who attended elementary school in Springfield while on the Ozark Jubliee recorded an LP with producer Mickie Most and Jimmy Page on the axe. After all those weapy 'he-broke-my-heart' songs of the early Sixties, Brenda sounds like she decided to kick this guys ass.
1. "Sunshine Superman" by Donovan (the long LP vesion). Pretty self explanitory if you've ever heard it.
