The congressman from southwest Missouri was Mr. Telemarketer on Thursday, ringing households across the Ozarks to invite people to a telephonic town hall meeting. At one point in the "meeting" Blunt said he'd like to have several face-to-face gatherings, but the telephone gimmick gave him the chance to "meet" a lot of constituents.
The questions were soft. The answers were generic. The effect was impressive. Blunt doesn't need to campaign, shake hands, kiss babies. He can simply let his fingers do the walking.

No wonder all circuits were busy on Thurs night. Must have been you and every member of Second Baptist down at the "town hall".
