DON'T KNOW MUCH ABOUT HISTORY

David Paszkiewicz is a history teacher at Kearney High School in New Jersey. His version of history, however, is distinctly different.

Chew on this riff of his:
"He (God) did everything in his power to make sure that you could go to heaven, so much so that he took your sin on his own body, suffered your pains for you and he's saying, 'Please accept me, believe me.'"

"If you reject that, you belong in hell. The outcome is your prerogative. But the way I see it, God himself sent his only son to die for David Paszkiewicz on that cross ... And if you reject that, then it really is to hell with you."
What the hell? The Star-Ledger reports that Paszkiewicz is still teaching, despite audio recordings that seem to prove the teacher is a liar and a hypocrite.

Matthew LaClair, the 16-year-old student, taped Paszkiewicz. The teacher said the theories of evolution and the "Big Bang" were bogus, and that dinosaurs were hanging out on Noah's ark.

The student complained to the school principal. The teacher denied every allegation. The student unveiled his audio proof.

Paszkiewicz is also a Baptist preacher. He should stick with that calling and leave the teaching of history to others.

On first reading, this post seemed pointlessly judgmental and harsh.

But on further reflection, I believe you're right on the button, RED.

What would we think of a teacher who taught kids that the Sun revolves around the earth?
That the earth is flat?
Or that boiled bats ears cure cancer?

Or worse yet, what if he was teaching the kids that there is no God but Allah, and Mohammed is his prophet!?!?!

Yeah, this guy and any like him need to be sacked.
And now.

And anyone who doesn't see that is living in the wrong country.

OKAY. first of all, this man is my teacher and church pastor. he did not bring all of this into the classroom without being egged on by student, Matt LaClair. I've been in school with Matt since fourth grade, and everyone knows he looks for whatever kind of attention he can find.

You're all making him sound like a bad person. Before he started to speak about it he asked the class if it was okay to talk about. If matt had a problem he should have stated it then and there. If you listen to the tape, WHICH YOU OBVIOUSLY DIDNT! you'd hear that he asked permission to speak about it before speaking about it.

and to the man who commented before me, he needs to be sacked? no. he's an amazing teacher and everyone in the school believes it. Except of course for Matt. If anyone could give matt a chance to speak, you'd hear what he said about the teacher being an excellent teacher.

It didnt have to go as far as it did.

goodbye.

Where you at the meeting with the principal? Did Matt secretly tape that meeting? If so, I love to hear it. Before you start calling someone a liar, you should get all the facts in first, both sides. Seems to me you've already condemned this man all on one 16 year olds allegation. I'm going to follow this subject closely and wait for more facts before I judge.

The teacher did not ask permission at any time. Approximately 3/4 of the way through the class, and after much preachin', he asked whether it was bothering anyone. Doesn't matter anyway. The law is that he can't do it and can't ask to do it.
