THE POLICE TO PLAY ST. LOUIS

Mark your calendar, save your pennies, farm out the kids. The Police will play Monday, July 2 in St. Louis.

Tickets will probably range from $60 to $225 for the show, according to a band news release. No Kansas City date has been set. You will not be shocked to learn that Springfield is not on the calendar, either.

The Police have always been overrated. I've never taken them seriously.

I wouldn't attend a Police concert if they put it on in my front yard.

They suck.

Is this now the forum for crabby old bittermen?

Actually it seems to be a place where flippant airheads gather to reinforce each other's world views.

One has to wonder if the posters who proclaim that the Police "suck" or are "overrated" were even old enough to have witnessed the impact the band had when they arrived on the music scene.

Posting anonymously is overrated.

The Police rock. Period.

Anon 9:53, I think it is more likely that the "Police suck" posters were already old when the Police hit the scene, think "new wave" had something to do with the ocean, and believe that the "British invasion" happened in the Revolutionary War.

Safety pin your ear, put on your slick-soled white shoes and pogo your way to bliss. Punk rock lives!

The real question is, is there anyone here on Chatter NOT old enough to remember the Police? I think we're flattering ourselves to think we have anyone so young in hip amongst us.

Dude, man, the police totally sux. I was huffing paint with my little brother and this stoopid fat cop got all up in my grill and starting talking about grilled cheese sandwiches and donuts and crap.
