LOOTERS IN GREENSBURG

The destroyed town of Greensburg, Kan. was hit again over the weekend, this time by soldiers and a police officer.

According to this Associated Press report, four soldiers and a reserve cop were arrested Sunday for allegedly stealing cigarettes and booze from a store.

The soldiers were from Fort Riley. They had no official business in Greensburg. They just wanted some free booze and smokes.

So the Kansas National Guard cannot serve its intended purpose because it is in Iraq, but regular Army soldiers are in Kansas looting the very town the Guard should be serving? Heck of a job, Bushie!

Maybe we should see about bringing in some Iraqi peacekeepers to restore order in Greensburg. They might be able to loan us some tents, build us a few walls to keep the Methodists and the Lutherans from engaging in sectarian potluck dinner attacks, and generally restore order. But please, let's not give 'em deadlines or benchmarks, because you know, that's just gonna encouarge the locals to never rebuild. What that town needs is some good old Baghdad-style democracy.

Where's Halliburton when you need 'em?

Halliburton's moved to where the action is, becoming a foreign company reaping billions of American tax dollars. War profiteers, indeed.
