Barry Bonds broke Hank Aaron's home-run record late Tuesday, with a fifth-inning shot off Washington's Mike Bacsik. The Associated Press has the story. Thirty-three years after his own record-setting homer, Aaron offered a taped message of congratulations.

The tags to this story say it all. Who has their head grow one hat size and their shoes grow two sizes in their late 30s? Only Barry Bonds.

Everytime I hear a Bonds comment I just let my mind wander back to when I watched Cal Ripken break Lou Gehrig's record. That was someone who broke a record with class and dignity.
